Clown City Update 🤡
Guessing “Stay Home, Don’t Vote” didn’t play as well as it sounded at the time, so instead, the tried and true will likely work better.
We’d like to suggest “Stay Home, Vote Often” as an acceptable compromise.
And by the way, if Lori doesn’t make it into the top two tomorrow, it’s because you all are ist-a-phobes.
Polling Results
As mentioned above, our highly scientific poll closed on Sunday afternoon and it would appear as if our readership is 60/40 split between Paul Vallas and Undecided/Other/Bozo the Clown.
Body Count
The Trace published a very slick, interactive map that shows “gun violence” across the US since 2014. Given our struggles in compiling the data for just one city, to do so for the entire county is an impressive feat. While we cannot speak for the validity of the data for locals other than Chicago, a quick spot check of their Chicago data shows that it’s pretty good.
This side-by-side shows all shootings vs just those that were police-involved for 2014-2022. For those that insist on claiming that the police are the source of most of the violence and stupidity, we’ll need a few thousand more dots on the right to be convinced otherwise.
Stay Home, Don’t Vote
You’ve been told to stay home and don’t vote, but are now encouraged to vote early, vote often. Unfortunately, this tee will do nothing to help make up your mind about which method is best, but it will look good spreading confusion.
