These days we rack up more shootings involving concealed carry license holders than police-involved, but since we don’t yet require these CCL’ers to don body-worn cameras, we have to settle for a distant traffic camera to pick up the action.
As noted by CWB Chicago at the time:
An armed concealed carry license holder shot a man who charged at him in the Loop on Thursday morning, Chicago police said. The gun owner was taken in for questioning.
A CPD surveillance camera recorded the incident, which occurred in the 300 block of South Michigan around 5:34 a.m. Police said the 35-year-old licensee got into an argument with a 48-year-old man, but the situation apparently escalated. The armed man fired one shot as the 48-year-old charged at him, striking the man in the abdomen.
EMS transported the injured man to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition.
To our knowledge, the CCL’er wasn’t charged, nor have we been presented with high school graduation photos of the lead recipient or stories on how he was shot before while attempting to kill his uncle. No matter, Justice for Bum-rushing Guy!

Admittedly, the handsome yet large revolver used on the tee doesn’t make for the most ideal CCW, but it works well on the tee.
