The Lightfoot Compendium
A lead-filled, stats-heavy review of Lori Lightfoot's tenure as Chicago's 56th mayor.
She originally campaigned on public safety while proclaiming that “we can’t afford to elect another mayor who learns about public safety on the job.” As it turned out, she was held back a few grades and by the time the last day of May 2020 rolled around and Floyd season was in full effect, it was obvious there was to be no learning at all.
The Lightfoot Era
Shot & Killed: 2,683

1,497 Shot In The Ass
Clearly, public safety was the priority. What’s not displayed nor likely properly accounted for is the economic damage from the asinine lockdowns and the “outbreak of incredible frustration and anguish” which outside of retardedland and in the real world is better known as “rioting and looting”. See Michigan Ave and/or the Loop. What a disaster.
“In the past seven years, 23,000 people have been shot in this city. That’s a staggering number.”
• Mayoral Candidate Lori Lightfoot, 2/2/19
And speaking about those past seven years (under Rahm), his 2015-2019 term posted fewer casualties even with the record runs of 2016 and part of 2017.
Shot & Killed: 2,335
Shot & Wounded: 11,542
Total Shot: 13,059
Total Homicides: 2,633
While we don’t have complete stats for Rahm’s first term, we’re confident those would be even lower. We suspect that Daley’s final term would be as well.
Mapping Stupidity
It may be hard to see some of the lines on the map with all those pesky dots in the way, but the top lead-getters for Lori’s tenure were:
Garfield Park: 223 killed, 1,055 wounded
Englewood: 225 killed, 1,026 wounded
Austin: 250 killed, 950 wounded
North Lawndale: 142 killed, 715 wounded
Grand Crossing: 119 killed, 602 wounded
These five accounted for 1/3rd of all homicides and wounded. These five were also Lori strongholds in both elections.
The bottom lead-getters were:
Edison Park: 2 killed, 0 wounded
Mt. Greenwood: 0 killed, 3 wounded
O’Hare: 1 killed, 4 wounded
Forest Glen: 1 killed, 4 wounded
Norwood Park: 1 killed, 9 wounded
These five were not Lori strongholds. Go figure.
Inconvenient Tweets 🤡
There are so many stupid tweets to choose from, but here are a few where the first one in particular is THE one we’ll never forget.
Side note, this is probably our favorite tweet of the Lightfoot era:

We’ll have four years to celebrate all the silly decisions to come, but for one last time, pick up one of our best-selling tees of all time. Take 10% OFF your order with the code LETSGOBRANDON.
If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading. Our goal is to push out one long form post a week in addition to our regular stats focused posts. Thanks and remember “We don't want nobody nobody sent”.
It was a very " Fiery " term no doubt that often involved " Mutual Combat "!
A friend of mine just visited Chicago for a medical conference in October 2023. He said it was like "Bladerunner." So is San Francisco. So is LA...
