Our November forecast of 60 homicides with 250 shot and wounded was a bit aggressive on the wounded side as a few days barely recorded any lead in the air. We suspect that the usual late expirations and remedied death investigations will push the eventual body count north of 60. As has been the trend of years past, December will likely mirror the past couple of months and yield another 55 homicides with 200 shot and wounded. This would put 2022's final homicide tally around 725-735 with upwards of 3,600 total shot. While nOt As bAd aS tHE NinTIes! that sort of total would rank 2022 as the fourth deadliest year of this century, only behind 2016, 2020 and 2021.
