Clown City Update 🤡
The soon-to-be memory-holed big news story over the weekend was about how some excitable and rambunctious yutes managed to confound the CPD, retarded political class, and the citizenry in general after ample warnings of an impending shitshow.
CWB as usual was one of the first to post the details.
Two teenagers were shot Saturday night as hundreds of people descended on the Loop, jumping on vehicles, getting into fights, and overwhelming Chicago police resources for the third consecutive night.
The victims, boys ages 16 and 17, were standing in the crowd on Washington Street near Michigan Avenue when someone fired shots at 9:05 p.m., according to a CPD statement. The younger boy was shot in the arm, and the other boy was shot in the left leg. Chicago Fire Department ambulances transported them to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition, CPD said.
There is ample footage around so we made the effort to compile it all in one place. This is our first video post on Substack and aside from the funky preview, it seems to be working well. It’s also on that other video platform with all their usual warnings and restrictions.
Meanwhile, the retarded political class slow walked their responses as they were busy with other stuff or something. The current 3rd place finisher has decided to go with the ignore it and it goes away or the f*ck off, I’m out of here routine.
While the mayor-elect has gone with the it’s “unacceptable”, HOWEVER… approach.
In no way do I condone the destructive activity we saw in the Loop and lakefront this weekend. It is unacceptable and has no place in our city. However, it is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities.
Oh, and he has no desire to talk about it either.
This is a demonization-free zone Mary Ann. Memory hole this weekend ASAP!
Questionable Takes on Poor Decisions
What would a few nights of mayhem and destruction be without the apologists and rationalizers?
First up, a tweet so stupid that it was deleted since the linked video shows anything but an exploding battery.
Next, let’s talk about viaducts. Viaducts? Haven’t heard that term thrown around in years. Also, first time hearing the “blue wall of segregation”. Maybe that needs a T-shirt and/or a mug, once we figure out what that is.
Then there’s the obligatory “Dog Whistle” claim - drink!
Finally, this has to be a parody account. “Honkies”? Another term we haven’t heard in decades. Beginning to think the people behind these accounts are at least 50 and possibly an outgoing mayor with nothing else to do.
“Unacceptable” Wear
Oh sure, it may be kind of unacceptable to break shit and shoot people, but may as well demonize in style with a new t-shirt.
If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading. Our goal is to push out one long form post a week in addition to our regular stats focused posts. Thanks and remember “We don't want nobody nobody sent”.
What a mess. Buy stock in Uhaul.
But but but it was just kids having fun says Groot
