Mostly Hol(e)y Weekend
A round-up and rundown of all the mostly peaceful, yet sometimes violent events in and around Chicago this past Easter weekend from 12pm Friday, April 7th – 6am Monday, April 10th.
Years ago some had called for and tried "Thou Shalt Not Murder" Easter Sunday which unsurprisingly didn't work out as planned. These days with the apparent plan going forward to get even softer on crime, we're expecting for more shall than shalt.

Clown City Update 🤡
Chicago appears to be set to get it good and hard, or maybe it’s good’er and harder with Lightfoot v2.0 going with the less cops, more S.W.A.T. (Social Workers And Therapists) approach.
Maybe, just maybe, BJ is correct. Maybe S.W.A.T. would be a better option in some or maybe all cases. So let’s test it and see what happens. Our proposal is simple, let’s take two similar-sized CPD districts with similar populations and statistics; one will be the control where cops do cop stuff, while the other will be the test where S.W.A.T. will do S.W.A.T. stuff. Let it run over the summer and let’s see which worked out better after Labor Day.
We vote for the 7th District vs the 11th District. They have similar-sized populations, similar crime stats, and similar demographics but they’re miles away from one another.
Fortunately, we have a logo and apparel ready to go for S.W.A.T. so at least the city can save a little money in design fees.
How The Dead Voted
Our What’s Next article displayed a city map broken down by voting precincts showing that precincts preferred candidate. We overlayed that map with our own 2020-2022 homicide map showing nearly 2,400 homicides for that timeframe.
Our rough count of the gray area dots has Vallas only pulling about 10% of the homicide vote, leaving BJ with the other 90%. Our overly simple view is that those most involved with homicides, and we’ll assume crime at some level, preferred BJ and his S.W.A.T. approach. Tangentally, Kim Foxx’s election result overlay is roughly the same.

1,114+ Days to Slow The Spread
It would seem as if our rotund governor hasn’t returned from the all-you-can-eat buffet yet as the rest of our neighbors have long since moved on from the Covaids hysteria. Someone has to be getting their 10% cut here because the only ones left who buy this nonsense are the double-masked, triple-boosted Kens and Karens that are occasionally seen wandering around Johnson-voting precincts.
This tweet embedded. 🤷
Too easy? Probably.
We have four years to come up with something better as we expect the new mayor to be a walking and talking meme machine, but in the meantime, we had to start somewhere.
If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading. Our goal is to push out one long form post a week in addition to our regular stats focused posts. Thanks and remember “We don't want nobody nobody sent”.
Karenique from dispatch would like to speak to the manager at the crime scene because somebody used the f-word?
