February always marks the low point of the year which may yield a “remarkable” decrease in the increase that can serve as a final “crime is down” declaration ahead of the election on the 28th. February is also heavily contingent on how the weather plays out – snow and/or cold tend to suppress turnout. As we’ve forecasted with most past Februarys, we’re looking for 40 homicides with another 125 shot and wounded. Things will heat up in March which is when Spring Training arrives and practice begins ahead of the annual Mostly Peaceful, Often Violent Summer of Joy.

2022 Review
The Trib posted this ink-heavy headline a couple of days after recovering from their New Year's hangovers.
The reason for CWB’s smart-ass comment was the 2022 numbers seem to be larger than those of years past. Yes, homicides were down and that’s good, but everything else was up a lot, yet we’ve been told repeatedly that ‘crime is down’.

If you missed our tenth-anniversary post, we're not only disappointed in you but we’d also like to reiterate that if it wasn't for your support we would have folded nine and half years ago. As always, many thanks to everyone who visited, liked, retweeted, emailed, hit the tip jar and/or picked up some tees or other crap this past year.
Thanks to @Purplehip312 on Twitter for crafting such a pretty header image.
If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading. Our goal is to push out one long form post a week in addition to our regular stats focused posts. Thanks and remember “We don't want nobody nobody sent”.
Second in war, second in peace and first in mayhem
Looks like the hood rats have been on a rather long post hollar day staycation🤷🏼♂️. Betting that once they finish the colt45/weed ingestion, stuff will snap right back to murder Inc... just as it should be in the city that no longer works.
