Father's Day Weekend
A non-demonizable, stress mishandling rundown of all the mostly peaceful, yet sometimes violent and "unacceptable" events in and around Chicago this past Father's Day weekend.
Way back in 2020, Father’s Day weekend ended up being the absolute shitshows of shitshows making it the highest tally we’ve ever recorded for a standard weekend. It even bested any July 4th run and even some Februarys. While this weekend wasn’t as bad, it was the most nonsensical standard weekend of the year thus far with three mass shootings - one incident with four-shot and two others with five-shot. In any event, Happy Father’s Day to all those dads out there, even if you never scored four touchdowns in a single game.
Final Demonized Tally: 11 killed, 53 wounded

Clown City Update 🤡
The River North neighborhood is more known as a tourist destination with its numerous restaurants, bars, and clubs, but can also be a place for a spirited game of tag… with firearms.
A newly acquired video of Saturday’s shooting in River North shows four people jumping out of a parked car in an apparent ambush of the victim as he walked in the 300 block of West Erie. “Upwards of 50” rounds were fired in the attack, which left the victim critically wounded, a Chicago police officer at the scene said.
In the footage, the victim is seen walking on the sidewalk when a group of gunmen appears to emerge from a car parked across the street. The men charge at the victim, who falls to the ground.
He gets back up and runs, followed closely by a gunman who chases him down the block, apparently shooting along the way. At one point, a bullet hits a brick wall on the left side of the video, sending a puff of debris into the air.
After successfully shooting the victim near a stop sign, the gunman bolts back down the block, and the car the men emerged from pulls out to pick him up. (full story)

The good news is the CPD was able to make an arrest, but the bad news is the arrestee will be out in time for next weekend’s game of tag.
Speaking of tourist areas, Lincoln Park decided to get in on the action with a mass shooting outside of the zoo:
A mass shooting left five people injured, four critically, near Lincoln Park Zoo overnight, according to initial information from the scene.
The shooting occurred in the 1900 block of North Stockton occurred around 4:40 a.m.
“A group of people were gathered outside … when a verbal altercation ensued,” Chicago police said in a media statement. “Unknown offender(s) then opened fired [sic], striking five victims. No one is in custody and Area Three Detectives are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.” (full story)
At least Google Maps has updated their popular times graphic to give out-of-towners a better idea of when NOT to go to the zoo.
STFU About Willowbrook
It was only a week or so ago, we were told “If you don’t live in Chicago, you don’t have a right to talk about the city of Chicago”, but that doesn’t stop one from racking up some virtue signaling points with some timely, good ol’ fashioned “thoughts and prayers”.
However, in perusing the mayor’s timeline we noticed a curious omission (at the time of this post), there isn’t a single mention of the 64 people shot this past weekend nor any mention of the three mass shootings within the city limits. No “thoughts and prayers” for you, but we may be able to scrounge up some “root causes” or “silly decisions”.
One more thought, when the next politically-exploitable mass shooting occurs (one where the shooter fits a highly desired profile and uses a very demonizable weapon), we’ll lay money on a Lori-like tweet that starts with something like “Screw your thoughts and prayers…”.
Forgot About Father’s Day?
Even though Father’s Day has passed, there’s still time to help Dad “mishandled the stress” with a custom and very dapper t-shirt.
If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading. Our goal is to push out one long form post a week in addition to our regular stats focused posts. Thanks and remember “We don't want nobody nobody sent”.
what a shithole !! I wouldn’t let my goldfish live in that liberal utopia
Monday being a national holiday (Juneteenth) shouldn’t all of Monday be included in the Fathers Day weekend totals?
